Attending support groups is an excellent opportunity to connect with other weight loss surgery patients, and share and discuss your challenges in a supportive environment. Support group meetings also help patients adjust to the dietary and lifestyle changes that accompany their surgery and learn how to avoid returning to unhealthy habits. Ongoing support post-surgery is one of the keys to long term success for our patients!
Foothills Weight Loss Surgeons offers both In-Person and Online support groups. The In-Person Groups meet at Fort Sanders Regional in Knoxville in Classroom 1 on the hospital’s Lobby Level or in the Emergency Department Conference Room. The Supports at Cumberland Medical Center in Crossville meet in the Diabetes Services Conference Room.
Knoxville In Person-Support Groups
*The In-person Bariatric Support Groups at Fort Sanders Regional have resumed. To follow social distancing guidelines, the number of attendees will be limited and masks are required. Online Zoom Support Groups
Zoom is a free video and audio chat platform that can be used with laptops, smart phones or by calling in. Links to the online Zoom Support Groups will be provided by Melissa, Rachel or your Patient Advocate.

Cumberland Support Group
The Support Group meeting is at 12pm on the 3rd Thursday of each month in the Diabetes Services conference room at Cumberland Medical Center. Please call (931) 459 -7164 for reservations and details.
