FOOTHILLS WEIGHT LOSS SPECIALISTS HOSTS FASHION SHOW,
ENCOURAGES PATIENTS
Good health is always in style at Foothills Weight Loss Specialists. At their recent fashion show, patients showed just how fabulous it feels and how fashionable it looks to be fit.

The annual fashion show is designed to encourage post-surgical patients, who have successfully lost weight with help from the surgeons and staff of Foothills Weight Loss Specialists and Blount Memorial Weight Management Center, to share their success with other post-surgical patients and to provide encouragement for new patients.
At the show, patients’ before-surgery photos were displayed on a projection screen. The patient then entered the stage as his or her own “after photo.” The patients also modeled clothing that they wore at their heavier weight over their new, smaller clothes.
“Seeing patients who have reached their goals is so helpful to our current and future patients who are trying to envision and work toward that end result,” said Dr. Jonathan Ray of Foothills Weigh Loss Specialists. “New patients see that our post-surgical patients have in many cases eliminated their significant co-morbid conditions such as diabetes, heart disease and high blood pressure, and as added “side effects” have more energy, are more active and have increased self-confidence.”
Patients of Foothills Weight Loss Specialists attend support classes to share information about goals, compare notes on triumphs and struggles and get informed advice on what to expect before and after the surgery. The fashion show is a special support class.
“The fashion show was a great day for me,” said Brenda Cornwell-Suppus, a post-surgical patient and fashion show participant. “Not only am I celebrating the accomplishments I made to become a healthier me, I’m also encouraging those who are in the same shoes that I was in two years ago. It’s a great feeling to give them inspiration and show them that with the help they are receiving here, it can be done.”
